YPP Peer Support Training

A two-day peer support training was conducted in Tonle Bassac Restaurant, Phnom Penh on 29th and 30th of June 2010 . The training session is designed to equip the young people with the necessary knowledge and skills which enable them to raise awareness among their peers on issues surrounding commercial sexual exploitation (CSE) and also the necessary communication and counseling skills which they can use to support survivors of CSE and sexual abuse in the shelters where they reside. All 20 peer supporters were really enthusiastic and active in their participation, and made valuable contributions which help us to adjust the programme according to their needs and expectations. They demonstrated the ability to really engage with the problem and showed good communication skills and teamwork in discussing various solutions.
